Inspirational Speaker at Meetings and Conferences
Are you looking for an inspirational speaker for a keynote presentation or important breakout session at your upcoming meeting or conference?
Do you want to create a memorable experience that will unite and uplift your attendees? One that will make a real impact in the workplace, that they will be talking about for well after the program is over?
Marty Brounstein’s presentation, titled “The Courage and Compassion to Do the Right Thing: A Lesson in Making a Positive Difference,” has received top ratings at workplace meetings and professional conferences across the country. Clients including the League of California Cities, Major League Baseball, Kaiser Permanente, AT&T, multiple city and county governments, and others, have described the program as “thoroughly engaging,” “heartwarming,” and “thought-provoking.”
For 25 years, Marty ran the successful management consulting firm, The Practical Solutions Group, serving clients in the areas of leadership and organizational ef fectiveness. His client base ran across many industries, public sector and private sector, for-profit and not-for-profit, plus people of all positions: staff, managers, and top executives. He has also been an adjunct faculty member with the Executive MBA Program at St. Mary’s College, CA. Whether speaking at conferences, facilitating in-house seminars, or providing executive coaching, Marty’s practical approach was a hit across the board. In addition, his name is attached to eight published books related to business management as either a contributing author or sole author, including Coaching and Mentoring For Dummies, Communicating Effectively For Dummies, and Managing Teams For Dummies.
The “Do the Right Thing” presentation is based on his 9th book, however, which is quite different. This presentation will captivate your audience while taking them on a journey into a true story that happened more than 70 years ago. It’s a story of two people who had the courage and compassion to do the right thing then… and it’s a story that will inspire and empower your people to make a positive difference today.
In simple terms, Marty Brounstein is the humble messenger for two real heroes (not the misused term “hero” that often gets attached to entertainment celebrities and sports stars). He represents Frans and Mien Wijnakker out of the Netherlands, who at one time during their lives made a very positive difference, one for which he is eternally grateful.
Marty began sharing this inspirational story across the country six years ago, in a wide variety of venues including places of faith, service, and learning. It was one of Marty’s clients from his consulting business who suggested he take this special story into business and professional venues, because of its lessons and relevance for our work lives and personal lives today. It turned out to be a brilliant suggestion.
Audiences have often told Marty that he is an author on a journey with a mission, the mission being to touch people’s hearts and stir their minds about the lessons we can all learn for our lives today from this special story.
It’s no secret that people love stories, with some of the best-selling business books of all time being fables like The One-Minute Manager (Ken Blanchard), The Five Dysfunctions of a Team (Patrick Lencioni), and FISH! (Stephen Lundin). Now, you can give your people the special opportunity to step into a feature film-sized true story that is engaging, enlightening, and inspiring, that will make a difference in their lives at home and at work.

The Program
The Courage and Compassion to Do the Right Thing:
A Lesson in Making a Positive Difference
- Are promoting critical issues such as leadership, service, ethics, core principles, diversity and inclusion important to your organization?
- Are you wanting to reinforce members, managers, or employees of your organization to make a positive difference?
- Do you want to build these key values in a way that will truly move your people, by touching their hearts and stirring their minds?
In an engaging storytelling presentation, Marty Brounstein delivers such an inspirational and educational story conveyed from his book Two Among the Righteous Few: A Story of Courage in the Holocaust. It’s a true story about a Christian couple in the Netherlands named Frans and Mien Wijnakker, who despite great risk and danger, saved the lives of over two dozen Jews from certain death during World War II and the Holocaust. Marty also has a meaningful personal connection to the story and its heroes, which he reveals in his heartfelt presentation.
After engaging with the story directly, the program promotes discussion exploring the following topic:
What lessons about doing the right thing and making a positive difference can you take away from this story and apply in your work life today, let alone your personal life?
Take-Aways
Your audience then makes the commitment to do one or more of the following:
- Identify leadership practices to implement to make a positive difference.
- Define actions to take to enhance the quality of service delivered.
- Describe behaviors to execute that promote ethics, respect for diversity, and teamwork.
